名媛直播 Fine Arts exhibition showcases student work
SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – The Amy H. Carberry Fine Arts Gallery at Springfield Technical Community College announces the Fall ’24 Student Fine Arts Exhibition, on view Dec. 2-Dec. 14.
The community is invited to celebrate the creativity and hard work of 名媛直播 students during a special reception and end-of-semester celebration on Saturday, Dec. 14, 11 a.m.-1 p.m.
This semester’s exhibition features a diverse collection of student artwork, including oil and acrylic paintings, brush and ink drawings, and traditional gelatin silver photographs, among other remarkable design projects. Students from various academic majors and career interests – many of whom are not art majors – have contributed their work, showcasing the inclusive and accessible nature of the Fine Arts program at 名媛直播. Most fine arts courses do not require prior art experience.
The winning design for the Fall ’24 Student Art Exhibition poster contest was created by students Sarah Wojnarowski and Julia Salazar, who collaborated on an original painting.
Visitors to the gallery can also experience the unique Camera Obscura Room, built in 2013 by 名媛直播 analog photography students. This intriguing space offers a fascinating view of the laws of optics at work, as light rays from outside form an upside-down image on the wall within a darkened room.
"The Fall ’24 Student Fine Arts Exhibition demonstrates the incredible creativity and determination of our students,” said Steven Nelson, Interim Dean of the School of Liberal and Professional Studies. “Our fine arts courses provide a welcoming space for exploration and self-expression, and we’re proud to share this work with the community.”
The Amy H. Carberry Fine Arts Gallery is located in Building 28 on the Pearl Street side of the 名媛直播 campus. Gallery hours are Mondays and Wednesdays from 10:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m.; Tuesdays and Thursdays, 10 a.m.-5:30 p.m.; and Fridays, 12:30 p.m.-3:30 p.m. Parking is available in the K Lot, accessible via the Pearl Street gate. The gallery, including the Camera Obscura Room, is free and open to the public during exhibitions.
This exhibition is made possible with support from the School of Liberal and Professional Studies and the Fine Arts (A.A.) program.
